What is micro aluminium honeycomb core? 

The aluminium honeycomb product industry defines an aluminium honeycomb core with a honeycomb cell side length less than or equal to 3mm as a microporous honeycomb core. At present, the minimum side length for processing microporous honeycomb cores in China is 0.6mm, and the most commonly used aluminum honeycomb cores are 1.83mm, 2.0mm, 2.5mm and 3mm side length.

The price of micro aluminium honeycomb core is much higher than conventional aluminium honeycomb core. Sometimes their prices may differ hundred of times. Here are some reasons of the aluminium honeycomb core price difference.

a) The smaller cell size, the higher price. With smaller cell size, the aluminium honeycomb core density will increase thus material cost is higher. The density of micro cell sized aluminium honeycomb core can be more than 100kg/m3, while conventional aluminium honeycomb core density is below 50kg/m3.

b) The production process of micro cell sized aluminium honeycomb cores is more complex and difficult than that of conventional aluminium honeycomb cores. The micro hle aluminium honeycomb core is easily damaged during production and it has a very high scrap rate. The production diffculty increases the production cost of micro honeycomb.

c) There are relatively few domestic manufacturers engaged in the research and production of micro aluminium honeycomb cores. Many of the micro cell sized aluminium honeycomb cores circulating in the market are second-hand or even three-handed and four-handed. As a result, the price will be too high and the price will increase invisibly customer's purchase cost.
